Twenty-five years ago. Never forget.

Twenty-five years ago. Never forget.

We should not forget that Twin Towers was not the only point of attack and there were other heroes who sacrificed their lives to save others that day.

I am struck by the beauty of the memorials. Especially the “Twin Towers” light. Is that holographic? To see those lights where the Towers used to be gives me chills.
A quarter of a century has gone by and it seems like yesterday to many of us alive then.
I can only imagine other devastating events our country has experienced and how those alive then managed to convey to future generations and keep the memories alive. Pearl Harbor, the Revolutionary War, the Civil War, and others. I have an uncle I never met who died in WW II. It was a devastating loss to my grandparents, and I have always missed him as well and wanted to know him. I have a brother and a nephew named for him and it’s a testimony to the loss our family experienced.

Immigrants who come here have a different history from ours. Some have done a wonderful job of becoming part of our country and serving our country well. I hope that all who come and remain understand the lives sacrificed in the past for those of us here and alive, cost our people a great deal. Freedom isn’t free.
