The suspect, 39-year-old Sean Brandon Elliott, was arrested on charges of attempted murder and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. He remains in custody at the Beaufort County Detention Center.
According to the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office, the confrontation began when the victim turned onto Shelter Cove Lane around 7:30 p.m. and heard something strike his vehicle. What started as a verbal dispute escalated rapidly. Both men exited their cars, and Elliott allegedly pulled a pocketknife and stabbed the older man several times during the scuffle.
The victim was rushed to a local hospital by Hilton Head Island Fire-Rescue and treated for non-life-threatening injuries. The suspect’s bond has not yet been set.
