A Secret Service agent was robbed at gunpoint in Tustin shortly after President Joe Biden’s fundraiser. The off-duty agent fired his service weapon during the incident, but it’s unclear if the suspect was hit.


TUSTIN, CA (2-minute read) — A U.S. Secret Service agent robbed at gunpoint in Tustin over the weekend, shortly after President Joe Biden hosted a high-profile fundraiser in Southern California, fired his service weapon. The incident occurred in the Tustin Field residential community in Orange County around 9:30 p.m. on Saturday.

According to the Tustin Police Department, the robbery took place within a quiet residential area, causing significant concern among residents. Despite the alarming nature of the crime, the agent was not injured, and some of his belongings were recovered nearby.

The off-duty Secret Service agent robbed, whose exact role during the evening remains undisclosed, reacted swiftly by discharging his service firearm. However, it is not known whether the suspect was struck by the gunfire. Authorities have released an image of a 2004-2006 silver Infiniti FX35, believed to be the getaway vehicle.

The Tustin robbery transpired approximately one hour after President Joe Biden, former President Barack Obama, and various Hollywood celebrities gathered in downtown Los Angeles for a major fundraising event aimed at supporting Biden’s reelection campaign. The close proximity of the robbery to such a high-profile event has heightened the attention on this incident.

Authorities urge anyone with information about the robbery to contact the Tustin Police Department. Tips from the public can be instrumental in tracking down suspects and ensuring community safety.
