SWEET HOME, Oregon – April 21, 2026 – HEVI was a sponsor at the recent Kansas One Shot Turkey Hunt which was recently held April 16-18, 2026, in El Dorado, Kansas. The annual event paired youth hunters, celebrities, dignitaries, landowners, and guides to promote wildlife conservation, local businesses, and the state’s hunting heritage.
“The overall event was a success, raising money for turkey habitat restoration, research at Kansas State University, and conservation education, along with establishing the scholarship opportunities for students in wildlife-related fields,” said Jerry Fitzner, an ammunition category manager for HEVI. “And it also helped mentor youth and first-time adult hunters. Whitney Damron, Chair of Kansas Wildlife and Parks Commissioners, successfully harvested his first bird with HEVI turkey loads at 33 yards and it was quite a positive experience for him.”
