Ruger Mini-14 Tactical, Side-Folding Stock Channels the ‘A-Team’

0

If you’re a child of the ’80s, then there’s only way to describe this latest rifle build: “I love it when a plan comes together.” The new Ruger Mini-14 Tactical With Side-Folding Stock channels that iconic, fictional former ODA trying to clear its name, the “A-Team.” And while Ruger probably can’t use that description to promote its products, all of us out here in Gundom know exactly what’s up.

Ruger Mini-14 Side-Folding Stock Details

Even without the TV Land references, this Mini-14 build calls back a popular styling of the mid-1970s era. It features a walnut stock and stainless side-folding stock made from original Ruger casting tooling. An injection molded polymer grip pairs with the furniture.

The threaded 18.5-inch matte stainless steel barrel comes fitted with a factory-installed 1/2″-28 flash suppressor. So you could swap out with some alternative muzzle devices or a suppressor if you so desire.

The updated side-folding stock adds 1-inch sling loops on the left side. Other features include a ghost ring rear aperture sight and a non-glare protected blade front sight that includes a bayonet lug.

MSRP is $1,849. For more info, visit ruger.com.

Editor’s Note:

We saw this one up close at SHOT Show, and man is it cool. If you loved the ’80s and all things Soldier of Fortune and the like, then you likely drooled over builds just like this back in the day. We know we sure did. And just a few years ago, Samson Manufacturing re-lit interest in this build with its own well-executed Mini-14 Folding Stock. Now Ruger brings us a full factory build, just like so many folks have asked for. Billed as launching with “limited availability,” you better jump all over this one.
