Former far-right Fox News host Tucker Carlson claimed that the Ukrainian ruling class is selling weapons donated by the United States to Mexican drug cartels. The American journalist claimed that Kiev resells up to half of its Western-supplied military aid on international black markets.

A significant portion of the weapons Washington and its Western allies have provided to Kiev as “military aid” in its conflict with Russia end up in the hands of America’s “actual enemies,” including Mexican drug cartels, Carlson said. “The Ukrainian military is selling a huge percentage – up to half – of the arms that we send them. I know this for a fact,” Carlson claimed without disclosing his sources or providing specific evidence.
Carlson said Washington is providing Kiev with “hundreds of billions of dollars” worth of arms, a significant portion of which is being “stolen and sold to our actual enemies,” including “drug cartels on our border.” He also claimed that weapons from Ukraine can easily be purchased online, describing the situation as a “crime” and a “nightmare.” –RT
Since 2022, the U.S. Congress has authorized approximately $175 billion in aid for Ukraine. However, a large portion of that funding has reportedly been allocated to American industries and other U.S. government activities related to the conflict.

Carlson has long been an opponent of Ukraine’s and the U.S. assistance that it arm the country in the conflict with Russia. At the same time, Moscow alleges that Ukraine’s use of the unchecked supply of Western weapons has led to a large number of arms falling into the hands of organized criminal groups and extremists worldwide.
The allegations against Ukraine are not new. In October 2022, the Finnish authorities stated that weapons originally sent to Kiev had surfaced in the country and were acquired by local criminals. At the time, similar reports emerged from Sweden, Denmark, and the Netherlands, according to a report by RT.

It would not be a surprise if these allegations were true. Ukraine’s ruler, Volodymyr Zelenksy, has not been the most trustworthy dictator and other reports have accused the tyrant of using Western funds for personal gain.
