Smith & Wesson Unveils Enhanced Bodyguard 2.0 Micro Pistol

MARYVILLE, TN. – Smith & Wesson Brands, Inc., a leader in firearm manufacturing and design, has announced the release of the Bodyguard 2.0, an advanced version of their popular micro pistol series that originally launched in 2011.

The Bodyguard 2.0 builds upon the success of the original Bodyguard 380, offering significant upgrades and modern enhancements. Notable changes include a redesigned profile, increased capacity, and new ergonomic features aimed at improving performance and comfort for concealed carry users.

Key upgrades in the Bodyguard 2.0 include:

  • Higher Capacity: The new model ships with a flush-fit 10-round magazine and an extended 12-round magazine, offering substantially more capacity than its predecessor.
  • Striker-Fired Design: The 2.0 features a striker-fired mechanism and a new flat-face trigger, providing more consistent and accurate shots.
  • Enhanced Sights: Equipped with a black U-notch rear sight and a bright tritium-insert front sight, users can quickly acquire and stay on target.
  • Improved Ergonomics: The pistol has an overall height of 4 inches, a width just under 1 inch, and weighs only 9.8 oz unloaded, ensuring a comfortable fit and improved control.
  • Design Enhancements: New aggressive, yet not sharp, slide serrations and strategic texturing over the frame contribute to the pistol’s superior performance.

Andrew Gore, Handgun Product Manager at Smith & Wesson, described the Bodyguard 2.0 as a “breakthrough new micro-sized striker-fired pistol” that combines impressive capacity, a crisp trigger pull, and exceptional controllability, making it a top choice for concealed carry enthusiasts.
