Homeowner Shoots And Kills Serial Burglary Suspect

A homeowner in Alliance, NE, shot and killed an intruder early Wednesday morning. The intruder, identified as Jerome Robb, had a history of burglary.

ALLIANCE, NE (1-minute read) — In the early hours on Wednesday, a homeowner in Alliance, Nebraska, faced a harrowing situation that ended in the fatal shooting of an intruder. According to the Alliance Police Department, the incident occurred at around 2:24 a.m. when the homeowner called the authorities to report the shooting. The intruder was identified as Jerome Robb, a man with a known history of burglary.

Upon arriving at the scene, police found evidence that corroborated the homeowner’s account of the events. The details provided indicated that the homeowner acted in self-defense, confronting Robb as he attempted to break into the house.

While the case will be reviewed by the District Attorney’s Office, the Alliance Police Department has announced that no charges have been recommended against the homeowner. This decision appears to align with Nebraska’s self-defense laws, which allow individuals to protect themselves and their property from imminent harm.

An autopsy will be conducted to confirm the exact cause of death, but the initial findings support the homeowner’s actions as a response to an immediate threat. This incident underscores the importance of understanding self-defense laws and the rights homeowners have to protect themselves.

Safety Tip: Always be aware of your surroundings and ensure your home is secure. Knowing and understanding your local self-defense laws can be crucial in emergencies.
