Homeless Man Armed with Gun Defends Against Robber with BB Gun in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — A homeless man defended himself against an attempted robbery in the Kensington section of Philadelphia on Monday night. The incident occurred near the intersection of A and East Somerset streets just before 8 p.m.

According to police reports, a 35-year-old man approached the homeless individual, attempting to rob him with a BB gun. In response, the homeless man drew his own firearm and shot the assailant in the back.

The wounded suspect was transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Police stated that no charges have been filed at this time, and further details about the homeless man, including the legality of his firearm possession, have not been released.

In situations like these, it’s a stark reminder of the importance of personal safety and preparedness. While the legality of the firearm possession remains under investigation, the ability to defend oneself in a life-threatening situation can make a crucial difference. Always be aware of your surroundings and understand the laws regarding self-defense and firearm possession in your area.
