Weekend Open Thread: The Revenge of Eli Copter Edition

Hey Everyone, unlike the Iranian President, you have make it to Friday, and it is Weekend Open Thread time…

Normally, I have been posting a short section in support of Israel at the bottom of the page. I try to make it at least slightly lighthearted, sharing things like Mr. Fafo, or memes that are making a larger point in a humorous way.

There has been more bad news on the Israel front, the bodies of 3 more hostages have been discovered. May their memories be a blessing. I include this section each week as a counter to the anti-semitism that we are seeing from college campuses and other quarters, like some in our own Congress. It may be slightly out of place in a humor/meme post, but I will keep speaking out until Israel declares its operations against the openly genocidal terrorist group Hamas to be concluded.

The helicopter crash is the “bright spot” of the week, which killed the Iranian President and Foreign Minister. As they were under sanction for their support of terrorist activities, the world is better off with them assuming room temperature. Raisi is known as “The Butcher of Tehran” and has gallons of blood on his hands.

Hilarious. A guy joked on Telegram that the person guilty for Raissi’s disappearance was a Mossad agent named “Eli Kouptar”. (Mideast pronunciation of Helicopter)

It did make for some funny memes though. Especially when various media outlets including Hamas’s own Telegram account ran with the online rumor that a Mossad Agent “Eli Copter” was behind the crash.

According to the KNIFE Magazine Events Calendar, there are not any shows. However, Daniels Family Knife Brands (Napanock, Tuna Valley, etc) shared on their social media that they would be at the Bluegrass Knife Show at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington this weekend. It took some digging, but I found this on the All About Pocketknives forum.

Apparently it is a newish show, but the setup is quite nice…

Not a lot of other news related memes. I thought about doing some NHL Playoff memes, but the majority are dumping on Del’s Cannucks. I thought I would not add insult to injury. I was pulling for them myself, and was enjoying texting back and forth with him during the games.

I am a huge Warren Zevon fan. The fact that he is not in the Rock HOF is an absolute joke. If you have never heard Hit Somebody, do yourself a favor. It’s one of the great story songs.

The ones throwing shade are jealous that no one had heard of them before Kaitlin showed up.

If Charles were a real King the artist would be thrown in the Tower of London.
