SSD: Gerber Doubledown Machete Assigned New NSN

The American-made Doubledown Folding Machete has a new NSN 5110-01-714-2346. Folding up to half its size, you can easily stow it in a pack, on a belt, or attached to MOLLE.

Just don’t. It is barely adequate as a machete, with horrible ergonomics, and no really good place to attach a retention lanyard. I had mine slip one time and it caught my calf on the way to the ground. Nothing a little Israeli clotting powder and a piece of tape couldn’t handle, but still. I am not a fan, other than that they tried to push the envelope.

There isn’t much more to read, but this is from SoldierSystemsDaily.com.
