SK Guns Introduces the 2025 Gun of The Year: “Jesús Malverde”

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. – December 11, 2025 – SK Guns®, the Nation’s only series-driven, limited-edition manufacturer of custom firearms, is proud to announce its 2025 Gun of the Year. This production will be limited to only one of 300 Colt 1911s chambered in .38 Super, and honors a legendary figure from the Mexican state of Sinaloa.

The pistol pays homage to Jesús Malverde, the legendary figure believed to have lived in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. According to tradition, Malverde was a laborer who turned to banditry, stealing from the wealthy and redistributing goods and money to impoverished communities

“Every element of this firearm was purposefully designed to reflect the rich folklore, symbolism and cultural pride surrounding Jesús Malverde,” said Simon Khiabani, owner and founder of SK Guns. “Our team poured their passion into crafting a piece that stands as both art and tribute. This is one we’re proud to present as our 2025 Gun of the Year.”

The left side of the slide showcases a .999 silver-plated skull and butterflies symbolizing love for the deceased, accompanied by candles representing prayer and various Mexican flowers. These elements, bordered in 24k gold, signify hope, national pride, dignity and resilience. A subtle deep-engraved scroll completes the design.

On the right side, the slide features a .999 silver-plated sword, an early model 1900 Colt Single Action Army revolver, and imagery of money given to the poor, along with a continuation of butterflies and national flowers. The top of the slide presents a shrine-like portrait of Jesús Malverde, encircled by national flowers, a banner reading “Bandido Generoso” (translated: Generous Bandit) and a rosary encompassing the banner.

The frame, slide, barrel and hardware are highly polished, with select areas and controls plated in 24k gold, set against a deep Colt Royal Blue finish. Selective .999 silver plating enhances this historic piece, which is completed with a gold peso medallion embedded in presentation-grade black pearl Kirinite grips.
