MidwayUSA Foundation Hosts Hometown Challenge Sweepstakes

Columbia, MO – Throughout the entire month of September, donations to youth shooting teams and organizations through MidwayUSA Foundation will not only be matched but will also be sweepstakes entries.  MidwayUSA Foundation’s 2024 Hometown Challenge is now live with over 100 prizes.  Every $20 donation is an entry into the sweepstakes and benefits the youth shooting team or organization of the participant’s choice. “Youth shooting athletes and coaches can really connect with community members by offering supporters the chance to win a great prize just by contributing a $20 donation to their youth shooting team’s endowment,” said MidwayUSA Foundation Executive Director, G. Scott Reynolds.

Each year, the generosity of industry sponsors makes Hometown Challenge successful through their donations of products that are used for prizes.  Ben Lavallee, SA Consumer Products COO, talked about the partnership with MidwayUSA Foundation.  “SA Consumer Products is proud to support the MidwayUSA Foundation and youth sporting in our quest to promote the safe and responsible use of firearms for recreational use. It is our hope that our support of youth shooting sports, combined with our unwavering dedication to the safe and secure storage of firearms and ammunition, will help shape a safer tomorrow.”  A variety of prizes, including a gun safe from SA Consumer Products, firearms, ammo, gear, optics, and more, will be awarded at the conclusion of the event.

Hometown Challenge participants can also win a Walther Hammerli Tac R1 22C, multiple products from Walker’s, including headsets, muffs, and carbine glasses, as well as great products from Big Frig and so many other outdoor industry products from quality companies.  Each of these sponsors, plus many others, has committed to supporting MidwayUSA Foundation for several years. Their product donations assist MidwayUSA Foundation with its mission to help communities fundraise for their local youth shooting teams.

In addition to donors winning prizes, youth shooting teams that earn the most donation dollars in September can win additional endowment dollars.  The top 5 fundraising teams will be awarded as follows:

1st:   $15,000
2nd:  $12,500
3rd:  $10,000
4th:  $  7,500
5th:  $  5,000

Every youth shooting team that receives Hometown Challenge donations will be entered to win $1,000 in a random draw.  Thirty teams will be drawn.  Every endowment dollar grows a team’s annual cash grant, which is crucial in covering shooting team expenses.  Hometown Challenge runs through September and donations can be made right through the team or organization’s page on the MidwayUSA Foundation website.  Learn more about this great fundraiser at https://www.midwayusafoundation.org/htc/.

The MidwayUSA Foundation is a 501(c)(3) public charity working to sustain and grow youth shooting sports by providing long-term funding to youth shooting teams. Every donation made is tax-deductible and allows the Foundation to assist in expanding and enhancing the leadership skills, confidence, and discipline of today’s youth through shooting sports activities. The Foundation supports all shooting disciplines.
