Media Invited to Cover USA Shooting’s Fall Rifle & Shotgun Selection Matches, Return to Fort Carson Range

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Shooting invites members of the media to attend the 2026 Fall Rifle and Shotgun Selection Matches in Colorado Springs and Fort Carson, Colorado. The competitions will bring together many of the nation’s top rifle and shotgun athletes as they compete for national team opportunities and future international assignments on the road to the LA28 Olympic Games.

This year’s Shotgun Fall Selection Match also marks USA Shooting’s return to the Fort Carson USA Shooting Shotgun Range, bringing elite skeet and trap competition back to the range following its refurbishment. Members of the media will have an opportunity to see the updated range while covering some of the country’s leading shotgun athletes in competition.

WHAT:

2026 USA Shooting Fall Selection Matches

The Fall Selection Matches serve as a critical step in USA Shooting’s athlete selection process, with competitors earning valuable points toward national team rankings and future international team nominations under USA Shooting’s published selection procedures.

The events will feature Olympians, national team members and rising junior athletes competing in Olympic rifle, skeet and trap disciplines. With the LA28 Olympic Games approaching, the matches provide an important opportunity for athletes to establish themselves within the U.S. high-performance pipeline and compete for future international assignments.

WHEN & WHERE:

Rifle Fall Selection Match
Dates: August 19–23, 2026
Location: U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Training Center
Colorado Springs, Colorado

Shotgun Fall Selection Match
Skeet: August 28–September 1, 2026
Trap: September 3–7, 2026
Location: Fort Carson USA Shooting Shotgun Range
Fort Carson, Colorado

The Shotgun Fall Selection Match marks USA Shooting’s return to competition at the Fort Carson range following refurbishment of the facility.

  • USA Shooting National Team athletes
