Columbia, MO — MidwayUSA Foundation founders, Larry and Brenda Potterfield, were recently honored at the Oklahoma Wildlife Conservation Foundation’s (OWCF) Call of the Wild Gala on February 28 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The prestigious event recognized the Potterfield’s unwavering commitment to conservation and their profound impact on the future of youth shooting sports. The Call of the Wild Gala, a premier fundraising event for the OWCF, celebrates individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions to wildlife conservation in Oklahoma.
“The passion that Larry and Brenda Potterfield have for the outdoors and specifically the shooting sports is contagious. The impact that they have had with the creation of the MidwayUSA Foundation and in the turn the support that has been provided for youth shooting sports in Oklahoma has dramatically increased involvement and opportunities for the next generation of sportsmen and women,” said Sean McCabe, OWCF Executive Director. MidwayUSA Foundation proudly holds an endowment for OWCF, which has grown to over $1.3 million thanks to strong fundraising efforts and a matching program funded by Larry and Brenda Potterfield. That endowment has provided $108,573 in cash grants in just two years. McCabe continued, “It was truly our honor to showcase the impact that funding has made throughout our great state and beyond by recognizing them as our 2025 Hall of Fame inductees!”
The Call of the Wild Gala brought together conservationists, outdoor enthusiasts, and community leaders to celebrate the achievements of the OWCF and its partners. MidwayUSA Foundation’s presence at the Call of the Wild Gala highlights the Potterfield’s commitment to supporting organizations that share their passion for conservation and youth development. In addition to the OWCF endowment, MidwayUSA Foundation holds endowments for approximately 135 youth shooting teams throughout Oklahoma. This critical funding assists teams with purchasing ammo, targets, competition entry fees, and safety equipment.
MidwayUSA Foundation, established by Larry and Brenda Potterfield, provides sustainable funding to youth shooting teams and organizations across the nation. Through endowments and generous donations, the Foundation ensures that young people have access to the resources they need to participate in and excel in shooting sports. This support extends beyond the range, instilling values of teamwork, discipline, and responsible firearm handling.
