Hunting Matters Podcast Welcomes HSCF President Jeff Garrett for an In-Depth Conversation on Leadership, Conservation, and the Future of Hunting

HOUSTON, TX – December 8, 2025 — The Hunting Matters podcast, presented by Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) welcomes HSCF President Jeff Garrett. Garrett, a long-time HSCF life member and respected leader within the hunting community, joins to discuss his vision for the organization, his passion for preserving hunting heritage, and his personal experiences as an avid outdoorsman.

Garrett previously served HSCF as Chairperson of the Membership Committee, Grants Committee, and the 2025 Hunting Expo and Convention, bringing decades of leadership and field experience to the conversation. His dedication to HSCF’s mission serves as the foundation of this compelling episode.

In the episode, Garrett reflects on his lifelong love of the outdoors, including his ongoing journey with his son, Collin, as they close in on completing the Ultimate Waterfowlers Challenge—harvesting all 41 ducks and geese of North America. He also dives into the importance of youth participation, the evolving challenges facing today’s hunters, and his goals for guiding HSCF into a stronger, more engaged future.

Outside the field, Garrett has over twenty years of corporate experience as an in-house counsel and general manager in technology licensing for a major petrochemical company. He is a licensed attorney, licensed patent attorney, and registered professional engineer, with engineering degrees from Texas A&M University and a law degree from South Texas College of Law. Garrett has also served as Chairman of the Board for the Woodlands Area Chamber of Commerce (2019–2020) and holds life memberships in SCI, Wild Sheep Foundation, GSCO-Ovis, and Texas Wildlife Association.

Listeners can expect a wide-ranging and inspiring interview that explores the intersection of leadership, conservation, heritage, and family—core elements that define both Garrett and the broader hunting community.

Hunting Matters is available on Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major podcast platforms, as well as at https://hscfdn.org/hunting-matters-podcast/.
