Hunting Matters Podcast Welcomes Gib Surles for a Powerful Conversation on Legacy, Family, and the Outdoors

HOUSTON, TX – June 15, 2026– The latest episode of the Hunting Matters podcast will feature Houston businessman, outdoorsman, and conservation supporter Gib Surles in a wide-ranging conversation centered on family, hunting heritage, life planning, and the importance of not waiting to pursue what matters most.

Surles is the Principal and Founder of The Forrest Group, LLC, a Houston-based estate management firm specializing in wealth transfer and business succession planning. With decades of experience helping families and business owners prepare for the future, Surles shares both professional insight and personal perspective throughout the episode.

In addition to his successful career in financial services and estate planning, Surles is an avid outdoorsman whose hunting experiences have taken him across North America, Africa, Spain, and Alaska. During the interview, he reflects on memorable hunts, conservation, family traditions, and the lessons hunting teaches about patience, responsibility, and legacy. A central theme of the episode is Surles’ message to listeners: “Don’t wait.”

From taking meaningful hunting trips with loved ones to having important family and succession conversations, Surles discusses why people often delay the things that matter most — and why intentional living becomes increasingly important over time.

Listeners will also hear stories from Surles’ adventures pursuing Dall sheep in Canada, ibex in Spain, African plains game, moose and caribou in Alaska, and his upcoming grizzly hunt with his son. The conversation also explores conservation ethics, Hunters for the Hungry, and the importance of preserving hunting traditions for future generations.

Listeners can tune in to the latest episode of Hunting Matters on all major podcast platforms.
