How to Catch a Monster

EGO Fishing’s Big Game Series landing nets offer the no-nonsense size and power to tame monster fish

Caldwell, ID (August 6, 2025) – The luckiest amongst us have stumbled into a fish that wouldn’t fit in the landing net. Call it a First World problem. Then there are anglers who habitually and purposefully engage fish that won’t squeeze into 90% of the landing nets out there. They’re targeting brutes like muskies, salmon, alpha northern pike, sumo catfish, and a menagerie of saltwater species. For this class of humanoid predator and their prey, EGO Fishing offers the Big Game Series.

“It’s simply a badass landing net,” quipped EGO Fishing founder and President, Grant Corbett. “Every feature and technology that went into the Big Game Series is for getting really big fish boatside or up the bank. The hoops are huge and handle extremely strong and durable, all developed for big fish.”

The robust yet lightweight handle truly shows the intelligence that went into designing the Big Game Series. First, its hearty handle is constructed of reinforced octagonal aluminum. The eight-sided handle provides a solid grip, while the geometric configuration also engenders strength and durability. Internally, the octagonal handle is further bolstered with support structure. Combined, this makes the EGO Big Game landing net the strongest on the market.

Net control is advanced with grips on the rear and yoke. Its injection molded polypropylene foregrip is signature to EGO, both comfortable and easy to grab. On the rear, you’ll appreciate the textured dense foam grip for its secure hold while leveraging and controlling the landing net. The octagonal handle is finished with an endcap to prevent scratching.

The Big Game’s hoops are equally as macho. Teardrop shaped for proper scooping, the reinforced aluminum hoops are fitted with nylon, rubber coated nylon, or rubberized netting.

With so much muscle, the EGO’s Big Game landing nets are surprisingly nimble. “We also paid close attention to weight while designing the net,” said Corbett. “They’re lighter and easier to move in the water than the competition. Less drag in the water.”

Corbett closed the deal with a knockout note. “They float, too…”
