Gear Up for Big Pelagic Action: The Complete Dredge Boom Setup from Tigress Outriggers & Gear

Lake Worth, FL (Oct 23, 2025) – Many resources are available today for sport fishers. One of the best choices is a Dredge Boom. Whether it uses rigged natural baits, soft-plastic swimbaits, or Mylar strips, dredges can help anglers target billfish, mahi, kingfish, and wahoo by replicating a school of baitfish while getting the lines out of the boat’s wake.

Dredge Booms first became popular in the early 1990s. They are usually pulled on both sides of the craft, sometimes employing two or three dredges in tandem, depending on sea conditions.

With almost 30 years of experience, Tigress Outriggers continues to raise the bar for saltwater sports enthusiasts with their Dredge Boom line, including the XD Poseidon Dredge Boom. Allowing smaller center consoles to fish like bigger boats, the XD Poseidon Dredge Boom outpulls any other dredge on the market. It features a 7-foot black fiberglass boom with a 3/0 Folbe heavy-duty block pulley and a 14-foot nylon safety tether with a 316 stainless steel carabiner.

Also available from Tigress is the XD Poseidon Dredge Boom Kit, which includes 50 yards of 400-lb Momoi Outrigger Mono, a 500-lb stainless dredge dog swivel, a 29-mm Harken Carbo Air Block, a 2-inch spring gate snap, and sleeve crimps. In addition, Tigress also offers the Dredge Pull Down, featuring a 1.25-inch anodized aluminum clamp, a Harkin 327 Cam Cleat, and 316 Stainless Steel Hardware, as well as the Dredge Boom Safety Tether, a 14-foot nylon safety tether with a 3/16-inch stainless steel carabiner.
