Chasing Giants Announces Partnership with Boone Brothers to Turn Venison Donations into Meals for Hungry Children

[Midwest / Kentucky] — January 2026 — Chasing Giants LLC, a leading hunting and land-management media organization, has announced a new partnership with Boone Brothers, a nonprofit using donated venison to address childhood food insecurity while supporting responsible deer herd management.

The partnership was announced on Chasing Giants Podcast Episode 306, where hosts Don Higgins and Terry Peer discussed how Boone Brothers provides a practical solution for hunters and land managers seeking ethical, meaningful ways to utilize harvested deer.

Solving a Real Problem for Hunters and Land Managers

Across much of the Midwest and Southeast, active deer herd management is essential for habitat health, agricultural balance, and long-term herd sustainability. While many hunters understand the biological need to harvest does, a common challenge remains: how to responsibly and meaningfully use excess venison.

Boone Brothers addresses this issue by partnering with wildlife agencies, processors, and schools to transform donated deer meat into Boone Bites—a shelf-stable, high-protein venison jerky distributed directly to elementary school children facing food insecurity.

“This partnership removes a major barrier for hunters,” said Don Higgins. “It turns responsible herd management into something that directly benefits families and communities while eliminating waste.”

Why Chasing Giants Got Involved

For Chasing Giants, the partnership aligns naturally with its long-standing focus on habitat management, herd health, and ethical hunting practices.

“We spend our lives teaching landowners how to manage deer numbers and habitat correctly,” said Terry Peer. “Boone Brothers connects those principles to a bigger purpose, where conservation and community impact work together.”

About Chasing Giants

Chasing Giants is a leading hunting and land-management media organization providing education on whitetail behavior, habitat improvement, and responsible herd management. Through podcasts, digital media, and private land consulting, Chasing Giants helps hunters and landowners pursue mature whitetails while promoting ethical hunting and long-term land stewardship.

About Boone Brothers

Boone Brothers is a nonprofit organization dedicated to feeding hunters spiritually and feeding children physically by transforming donated venison into high-protein meals for children facing food insecurity.

Founded in Kentucky, Boone Brothers partners with state wildlife agencies, participating processors, and local schools to convert an abundant natural resource into meaningful community impact. Donated deer are processed at no cost to the hunter and distributed through schools, where teachers identify students most in need.

Boone Brothers also serves hunters nationwide through the Boone Brothers App, a free resource that includes:

Participating processor maps
– Educational and motivational video content
– Updates on venison donation opportunities
– Information on expansion into additional states

While venison donation is currently available in select states, Boone Brothers is actively working to expand its model across the Midwest and beyond.
