(HOUSTON, TX – September 15, 2026) The Houston Safari Club Foundation (HSCF) is pleased to announce that Phil Peabody, Chief Lending Officer of Capital Farm Credit, will be featured on an upcoming episode of HSCF’s Hunting Matters podcast. The conversation will explore agriculture, rural land ownership, conservation, hunting, and the economic forces shaping the future of Texas’ farms and ranches.
Peabody has been part of the Capital Farm Credit team for more than 15 years and currently oversees the association’s lending operations. Prior to becoming chief lending officer, he served as the organization’s chief risk officer, leading its Enterprise Risk Management function. His career with Capital Farm Credit has also included managing corporate lending relationships for widely syndicated loans throughout the Farm Credit System, as well as serving as a branch manager and loan officer in West Texas.
Before joining Capital Farm Credit, Peabody worked for ADM as an oilseeds merchandiser. He holds both bachelor’s and master’s degrees in agricultural and applied economics from Texas Tech University.
During the Hunting Matters interview, Peabody will discuss the changing landscape of Texas agriculture and rural land ownership, the financial challenges facing farmers and ranchers, and the importance of maintaining viable working lands in a rapidly growing state.
The conversation will also examine the relationship between agriculture, hunting, and conservation. For many Texas landowners, wildlife management, hunting, and habitat conservation are important components of an overall land-management strategy. Peabody will offer insight into how these activities can complement agricultural operations while contributing to the economic sustainability of rural properties.
