If Mom is the type who loves to fish almost as much as she loves her kids, Mother’s Day is a great time to upgrade her angling setup. Sure, flowers and a thoughtful card are nice, but what’s better than a brand new rod and reel she can take for a spin later that afternoon? We’ve rounded up some of the best Mother’s Day fishing gifts for any female angler, whether she’s into offshore angling or fly fishing. These are some of our favorite products that we’ve tested, used, and loved (and that Mom will, too!), from the most comfortable Free Fly sun hoodie to a tackle backpack with a built-in cooler.

As far as sun hoodies go, Free Fly is basically the gold standard. I own the OG bamboo Lightweight Hoodie II in a few colors, and I wear it all the time from April to October. It’s breezy and breathable, and it’s made of a quick-drying, UPF fabric that is perfect for time on the water.

I’ve converted from a standard old tackle box to a tackle backpack, and it’s been a game-changer. This one—which is made from super tough, water-resistant 1200D fabric—keeps Mom’s hands free and has tons of different customizable compartments and pockets to keep her gear organized. Bonus: It has integrated rod holders and even a cooler pocket for bait storage or, just as importantly, snacks and drinks.

If she doesn’t yet own a Turtlebox, now is the perfect time to hop on the bandwagon, just in time for peak fishing and boating season. We’re obsessed with the waterproof speaker that sounds incredible outdoors and even floats.

Easily the most comfortable ankle boots I’ve ever worn, the Grundens Deck-Boss boots are fully waterproof and come in 12 colors from glacier gray to dusty rose (and even duck camo!).

Save Mom the hassle of trying to load her reel with this top-rated fishing line spooler. Adjustable and easy to use, it works with almost any size and type of reel. She’ll have her line on and ready to go in under a minute.

I own—and love—a bunch of Columbia PFG hats. They’re lightweight, breathable, and comfortable enough to wear all day long. This one, with its pastel fishing design, is super cute for a Mother’s Day gift for any devoted angler.

You can’t go wrong with gifting Mom any Yeti cooler. But the Roadie 15—the brand’s newest and smallest hard cooler—is perfect for her afternoon adventures. It’s just big enough for a few drinks and her day’s catch.

There’s many reasons so many anglers swear by the Daiwa Tatula reels—they’re smooth, easy to cast, and highly versatile to name a few. Mom will have a blast with the MQ LT spinning reel this summer. It’s praised for being lightweight yet tough.

Mom’s tackle box is begging for a Bandito Bug, which our experts (and thousands of other anglers) have dubbed one of the best lures for bass fishing. Not only do they have realistic, bug-like action, but they also come with a bass-enticing scent.

Whether she needs to charge her phone or her speaker when she’s fishing all day, this Anker portable power bank is up for the task. It’s one of the most useful things she can take on a full-day outing. It has an incredibly long battery life, along with three ports and two built-in cords so she can charge multiple devices at once.

I recently got the Free Fly Breeze bamboo-lined skort, and if I could wear it every single day this spring, I would. It’s incredibly lightweight and breathable, with a flattering cut that makes it very comfy for everything from lounging around the house to heading out on the water. Plus, the fabric has built-in UPF protection.

We’re all about Bajio sunglasses this year, and the new Annette pair is designed just for women, featuring smaller, face-hugging frames, wide temples to block out light, and polarized glass lenses.

Simms makes some of the best fishing gear for both men and women, and the Latitude Hoody is proof of that. Made of a cooling and breathable knit UPF 50 fabric, it’s designed to keep the sun’s rays off you, with a roomy hood and even a built-in neck gaiter.

Mom will love this all-in-one fishing tool kit, which contains four essentials: fishing pliers, a fillet knife, a fish lip gripper, and a retractable line snip. Everything is made with corrosion-resistant stainless steel, making these tools as good for saltwater fishing as they are for freshwater.

I own multiple pairs of the AFTCO Original fishing shorts. Perfect for warm days, they’re made of lightweight and stain-resistant nylon and have a whopping five (!!) pockets, including one specifically for fishing pliers.

Mono, fluoro, braid—no matter what kind of fishing line Mom prefers, the stainless steel Boomerang Tool Company Snip will effortlessly cut through it. She won’t have to drag along dull scissors or nail clippers anymore. The retractable tether clips right to her pack or vest so it’s always within reach.

Upgrade her tackle storage with this Plano Guide Series box. There’s plenty of room for all her lures, hooks, and line with three removable spinnerbait racks and four removable utility boxes.

A sling pack is an essential piece of fly fishing gear (unless you’re team vest). The Fishpond Summit 2.0 is packed with thoughtful features for anglers, including plenty of tool attachments, four zippered compartments, and a built-in net holder.

These Orvis waders are my favorite for fly fishing. Unlike other waders out there, they are tailored to fit a woman’s body (no baggy and bulky issues here!) and keep water out while keeping you cool even on the warmest days.
