PA Homeowner Shoots Intruder That Kicked In His door; And That's What You Get!

PITTSTON, ME — A homeowner in Pittston defended his residence Monday evening when an intruder allegedly forced his way into the home, leading to a shooting that left the intruder wounded.

According to a news release from the Maine State Police, authorities were alerted to the incident at 31 Palmer Road at 8:46 p.m. via a 911 call. The homeowner reported that a man had kicked in his door, prompting the homeowner to shoot the intruder.

The intruder was quickly transported to Maine Medical Center in Portland, where he is currently undergoing medical procedures. While his injuries are serious, officials stated that he is expected to survive.

The State Police Major Crimes Unit is conducting an investigation into the incident, though authorities have assured the public that there is no ongoing threat.

In cases like this, it’s a stark reminder of the risks involved in criminal activities such as home invasions. Kicking in doors and robbing people is a dangerous job, especially when you have to worry about homeowners being armed.

Being prepared to defend oneself in their home is crucial. For those who choose to own a firearm for self-defense, it is important to be familiar with its use and to have a clear plan in case of an emergency. Awareness of local laws and regular training can also help ensure that you are ready to protect your loved ones if the unthinkable happens.
