Phoenix Resident Shoots Teen During Attempted Armed Robbery

PHOENIX, AZ — A teenage suspect was shot during an attempted armed robbery early Saturday morning in Phoenix, according local news outlet 12 News.

The incident occurred near 35th Avenue and Indian School Road shortly after 5 a.m., when officers responded to reports of shots fired. Upon arriving at the scene, police encountered a man who claimed he had been the target of an attempted aggravated robbery. The man reported that he was able to defend himself by producing his own firearm and shooting the suspect.

As officers initiated a search for the suspect, a teenage male contacted the police, stating that he had been shot. Authorities confirmed that the teen was involved in the attempted robbery, although the exact nature of his involvement has not been disclosed.

The teen was transported to a local hospital for treatment of his injuries, which were determined to be non-life-threatening. He has since been released from medical care.

At this time, no arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

This incident underscores the importance of situational awareness and the ability to react quickly in dangerous situations. If you carry a firearm for self-defense, it’s essential to be trained not only in its use but also in making sound decisions under pressure. Understanding when to draw your weapon and how to effectively use it can make a critical difference in ensuring your safety and that of others. Always be aware of your surroundings and practice scenarios that could help you respond effectively in real-life situations.
