Smith & Wesson Unveils PowerPort-Equipped Shield X Carry Comp for Concealed Carry Market

MARYVILLE, TN — Smith & Wesson has announced the launch of the new Performance Center M&P9 Shield X Carry Comp, a premium concealed carry pistol designed to enhance the popular Shield X platform with upgraded features and improved shootability.

Chambered in 9mm, the new PC Shield X Carry Comp offers magazine capacities of 13+1, 15+1, or a 10+1 configuration for states with capacity restrictions. The pistol features a 3.6-inch fluted barrel equipped with Smith & Wesson’s proprietary PowerPort technology, which redirects high-pressure gases to reduce muzzle rise and felt recoil during rapid fire.

Engineered with everyday carry in mind, the Shield X Carry Comp retains the aggressive front and rear slide serrations of the standard Shield X model for better grip during slide manipulation. It also includes a reversible magazine catch, an extended ergonomic grip for improved handling and capacity, and a squared-off trigger guard with an integrated accessory rail for compatibility with lights and lasers.

For enhanced low-light sight acquisition, the pistol comes standard with an Ameriglo Trooper LumiGreen front sight paired with a serrated u-notch blacked-out rear sight. In addition, the optics-ready slide is cut for RMSc/K footprint red dot sights and features a ClearSight Cut to divert gas discharge away from the optic lens, maintaining clear visibility during fire.

This latest offering from the Smith & Wesson Performance Center underscores the brand’s continued commitment to designing reliable, shootable, and carry-friendly firearms for the defensive market.

The PC M&P9 Shield X Carry Comp is available now.
