First Shots: Safariland Incog X Holsters

Safariland, long known for its nigh-invulnerable duty holsters for the military and law enforcement, is making great strides in the civilian concealed-carry market. The Incog X line of concealed-carry holsters was designed with input from Travis Haley, of Haley Strategic Partners, to serve as a dedicated everyday carry holster for a wide variety of popular handguns. With a soft, suede outer layer over Boltaron, each Incog X is precision-molded for a specific handgun. Tuckable polymer clips secure the holster to the belt, distributing weight evenly for more comfortable carry.

Incog X holsters are available for both right- and left-handed shooters and are designed to work both as a traditional inside-the-waistband holster as well as for appendix carry. When carried in the appendix position, a clip strut with various depths can be used to help tuck the holster into the body to avoid printing. Retention can be adjusted with a single screw, in addition to the passive retention of the holster’s molded contours. For those who like a “sidecar” arrangement, where a spare magazine is carried in conjunction with the holster, an optional magazine carrier can be ordered and attached to the Incog X.

We talk with David Higginbotham of Safariland holsters about the newest upgrades to the Incog X, which include a new outer layer similar to the coverings on Safariland duty holsters. For more information on the Incog X, and all of Safariland’s duty and concealment holsters, visit safariland.com.
