First Look: Real Avid Master Bench Block Pro Kit

Real Avid is capitalizing on the popularity of its Smart Bench Block with the release of the upgraded Master Bench Block Pro-Kit. Developed for both the kitchen table for use by a “do it yourself” firearms enthusiast and the bench at a professional gunsmith’s shop, the Master Bench Block Pro-Kit provides everything needed to safely and efficiently drive pins commonly found in rifles, shotguns, pistols, revolvers and AR-pattern firearms.

The Master Bench Block Pro-Kit combines a modified Master Bench Block Pro with a removable magnetic pin-catching tray and storage unit. The storage unit contains a Real Avid Accu-Punch hammer with interchangeable heads and a nine-piece standard pin and nine-piece roll pin punch set. The two components latch together when not in use, making the system easy to transport and easy to store. Having your hammer, punches and block all together means that when it is time to get to work, you have everything you need for pin-driving ready to go.

The standard pin and roll pin punches stow conveniently in their own friction tray to keep them organized. The punches feature hex-profile handles with dual rubber O-rings for precision control and a solid purchase in the hand. A pin alignment tool is also included to help hold and align small pins for insertion.

The Master Bench Block Pro itself is made of engineering-grade resin that includes 14 holes and two extended grooves to ensure optimal positioning of the work piece when removing and installing standard pins and roll pins. Included are two adjustable Smart-Block Clamps that help keep the work piece firmly in place, freeing both hands for pin-driving operations.
