Kratos Design Group has announced the launch of another shooting accessory, the new Hera and Hera Light “bag riders,” designed for use with Magpul SL and SL-S stocks. Accuracy-oriented AR-15 shooters increasingly depend on the use of shooting bags as aids to stabilize the rear of their rifles when taking careful shots. However, most modern AR-15 pattern carbine stocks have a triangular shaped design with a very narrow stock “toe” that can make it difficult for the bottom portion of a carbine stock to rest flush against the surface of a shooting bag.
Kratos Design Group developed its new Hera and Hera Light bag riders to be small, lightweight accessories designed to attach to the toe of a Magpul SL or SL-S AR15 carbine buttstock in order to create a wider footprint that provides more contact with a shooting bag, increasing stability and accuracy. The “sole” of the Hera or Hera Light bag riders has an aggressive and grippy texture to ensure positive contact with the surface of the shooting bag and prevent slippage. Both Hera bag riders are also designed with a storage compartment for the Multitasker Nano optic adjustment tool, so shooters can safely keep a sighting tool on their rifle at all times. Installation of Hera bag riders does not permanently modify the stock and is non-invasive; the bag rider simply clamps down on the existing carbine sling slot and is secured with a nut and bolt.
Kratos Design Group plans to expand the Hera bag rider line beyond the Magpul SL/SL-S buttstocks to include other popular carbine stocks such as the Magpul CTR, B5 SOPMOD and B5 Bravo.
