First Look: Full Forge Gear Extreme Lite Plates

MKS Supply and Full Forge Gear have partnered to launch an ultra-lightweight, 10×12-inch shooter’s cut ballistic panel with NIJ Level IIIA projectile impact-resistance performance.

These new Extreme Lite Level IIIA plates use modern materials and manufacturing techniques to keep weight down and increase wearer comfort. Each Extreme Lite ballistic panel weighs approximately 1.3 pounds and is designed around being worn for extended periods of time, without inducing wearer fatigue or discomfort. Furthermore, with the “shooter’s cut” which refers to the angle of the top left and right “corners” of a ballistic panel, the Full Forge Gear Extreme Lite Level IIIA panel takes wearer maneuverability in mind in order to reduce the impact on mobility.

“Whether you’re a law enforcement officer, security guard, or an everyday civilian seeking reliable protection, our Extreme Lite Level IIIA Plate is designed to meet your needs with utmost precision,” said Kara Boesenberg, Executive Vice-President of MKS Supply.

Extreme Lite Level III A Plates Specifications:

  • Protection Level: NIJ Level IIIA (National Institute of Justice Standard 0101.06)
  • Weight: 1.3 pounds
  • Thickness: Slim profile for enhanced maneuverability and concealment
  • Curve: Ergonomically contoured for a snug fit against the body
  • Coating: Durable outer coating for resistance against abrasions and environmental factors
  • Affordability: Engineered to provide premium protection at an affordable price point, ensuring accessibility without compromising quality
  • Applications: Suitable for law enforcement, security personnel, and civilians seeking reliable ballistic III A protection

The NIJ (National Institute of Justice) is the regulating authority tasked with setting standards for ballistic armor and panels. With the Extreme Lite’s Level IIIA rating, that means that it can withstand impacts for the vast majority of standard and magnum pistol projectiles that travel slower than 1,400 fps. Additionally, IIIA can provide protection against the majority of shotgun payloads, too. Visit mkssupply.com to learn more.
