First Look: Franklin SKR-C1 Binary Trigger

Franklin Armory, known for making binary triggers, complete firearms and other firearm-related products, has just announced the launch of the new Franklin Armory SKR-C1, a drop-in binary trigger for the FN SCAR series of short-stroke, gas-piston, semi-automatic rifles.

“From social media engagements to customer surveys, the FN SCAR consistently ranked among the most requested platforms for our next Binary trigger design,” said Franklin Armory President Jay Jacobson. “Our engineers enthusiastically pursued this project and did a fantastic job of adapting our Binary technology to the renowned SCAR platform.”

Franklin Armory’s new SKR-C1 binary trigger provides the same three-position selectable functionality that is found in the rest of its other binary triggers for rifles. The first and second positions are “safe” and “semi” while the third, binary mode, works slightly differently. In binary mode, a single round is fired when the trigger is pulled, while the motion of moving the trigger backwards fires a second round. To enhance safety, shooters possess the ability to cancel the second release round by simply moving the integrated selector switch from “binary” to the “semi” or “safe” position before releasing the trigger. Installing this part does not permanently alter or modify the firearm, so it continues to cycle ammunition via its standard short-stroke, gas-piston action.

The new Franklin Armory SKR-C1 binary trigger a starting retail price of $499. To learn more about the new SKR-C1 binary trigger for the FN SCAR or other to explore the rest of Franklin Armory’s binary trigger offerings for other rifles and carbines, visit franklinarmory.com.
