Texas Nuclear Bomb Plant Suspends Operations Due To Wildfire

A nuclear bomb plant in Texas has suspended all of its operations due to a wildfire in the area. Not to worry though, because the mainstream media is saying that according to a post on X, all of the “weapons and materials are safe and unaffected.”

Pantex Plant, the nation’s top nuclear weapons assembly and disassembly plant, about 17 miles northeast of Amarillo, canceled plant operations “until further notice” on Tuesday evening, adding, “All weapons and special materials are safe and unaffected.”

A series of wildfires across the Texas Panhandle prompted evacuations, cut off power to thousands, and forced at least the temporary shutdown of a nuclear weapons facility, officials said, according to media outlet Fox 10 Phonenix.

“We have evacuated our personnel, non-essential personnel from the site, just in an abundance of caution,” Laef Pendergraft, a spokesperson for National Nuclear Security Administration’s Production Office at Pantex, said during a news conference. “But we do have a well-equipped fire department that has trained for these scenarios, that is on-site and watching and ready should any kind of real emergency arise on the plant site.”

A developing situation out of north Texas at this hour, as the Windy Deuce wildfire spreads south towards the Pantex Plant northeast of Amarillo.

“The fire near Pantex is not contained. Response efforts have shifted to evacuations. There is a small number of non-essential personnel sheltered on-site,” Pantex said late Tuesday night.

The Pantex Plant is open for normal day shift operations for Wednesday, February 28; all personnel are to report for duty according to their assigned schedule.

Pantex has been the United States’s main assembly and disassembly site for nukes since the mid-1970s. It assembled the last new bomb in 1991 while dismantling thousands, according to a report by ZeroHedge.

Texas Republican Governor Greg Abbott issued a disaster declaration for 60 counties as the largest blaze, the Smokehouse Creek Fire, burned nearly 400 square miles, according to the Texas A&M Forest Service. That’s more than twice its size since the fire sparked Monday.

The ruling class has so far, not said what might have caused the wildfire, which tore through sparsely populated counties surrounded by rolling plains.
