Israel’s IDF (Israeli Defense Forces) has said it carried out airstrikes on several Hezbollah-linked targets in southern Lebanon on Sunday. The operation was in response to Hezbollah’s ceasefire violations.
The latest strikes come amid ongoing border tensions between Israel and Lebanon.

The operation was launched in response to “violations of the ceasefire understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the military said in a statement. According to the IDF, Hezbollah military sites in the Bir al-Sansal area and the Bekaa Valley were hit. The military said Jawad Basma, whom it described as a Hezbollah operative involved in weapons manufacturing, was killed. -RT
In a separate statement, the Israeli military said it also killed Muhammad al-Husseini, whom it identified as Hezbollah’s artillery commander, in the village of Arzoun. IDF spokesman Avichay Adraee said al-Husseini also worked as a school teacher.

Lebanon stated that several villages were targeted in this attack.
Both countries continue to accuse each other of breaching ceasefire arrangements, raising concerns about renewed escalation.

Meanwhile, Israel is continuing to bomb Gaza. Washington has reportedly been pressing West Jerusalem to open the Rafah crossing between the enclave and Egypt. All of this is occurring at the same time as United States ruler Donald Trump claimed success in ending the war between Israel and Gaza.
Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff said he has had “positive” discussions with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on advancing the Washington-brokered 20-point peace plan for Gaza. The talks come against the backdrop of continuing Israeli military operations in the Palestinian enclave despite the ceasefire.
