Hamas Agrees to Key Aspects of Trump’s Gaza Peace Plan

This article was originally published by Belle Carter at Natural News.

    • Hamas has conditionally agreed to Trump’s peace plan, including releasing remaining hostages and relinquishing governance, but stops short of full endorsement due to unresolved disputes, particularly disarmament.
    • The White House has set a hard deadline for Hamas to accept the deal, threatening unprecedented military escalation if rejected. The plan includes a ceasefire, prisoner releases, and international oversight—but excludes Palestinian statehood.
    • Mediators like Qatar and Turkey welcome Hamas’ move but stress the need for an immediate ceasefire. Palestinian leaders demand sovereignty, while Israel insists Hamas must disarm and surrender before any agreement is finalized.
    • Gaza faces catastrophic conditions—66,000+ dead, 90 percent displaced, and severe shortages in medical care and basic supplies. The U.N. reports extreme suffering, with civilians trapped in war-torn areas.
    • While Hamas’ partial acceptance marks progress, major obstacles persist—disarmament, Gaza’s political future, and Israel’s military escalation plans.

Hamas has tentatively accepted major provisions of President Donald Trump’s proposed Gaza peace plan, including the release of all remaining hostages and relinquishing governance, but stopped short of full endorsement as contentious issues remain.

The announcement comes just two days before Trump’s ultimatum expires, threatening unprecedented military escalation if Hamas rejects the deal. The White House plan, backed by Israel and Arab mediators, offers a ceasefire, Palestinian prisoner releases, and international oversight of Gaza—but excludes Palestinian statehood, a core demand of Palestinian leadership.

In a statement on Friday, Oct. 3, Hamas signaled willingness to release the estimated 20 surviving hostages out of the 48 originally taken during its Oct. 7, 2023, attack on Israel. However, the group did not commit to disarming—a key Israeli condition—and called for further negotiations on unspecified elements of Trump’s 20-point proposal.

Trump, in a Truth Social post, framed the ultimatum as a final opportunity: “Every Country has signed on! If this LAST CHANCE agreement is not reached, all HELL, like no one has ever seen before, will break out against Hamas.” His warning underscores the high stakes as the deadline—6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Oct. 5—coincides with the second anniversary of Hamas’ assault, which killed 1,200 Israelis and triggered Israel’s devastating military campaign.

International leaders cautiously welcomed Hamas’ response while acknowledging unresolved disputes. Qatar, a key mediator, praised Hamas’ move but stressed the need for an immediate ceasefire to facilitate hostage releases. Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan called it a “window of opportunity for lasting peace,” while Palestinian Authority President Mahmoud Abbas emphasized sovereignty concerns, insisting Gaza must remain under Palestinian governance.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office confirmed preparations to implement the hostage release but reiterated Israel’s conditions: Hamas must disarm and surrender. Meanwhile, Palestinian Islamic Jihad, another militant faction, endorsed Hamas’ stance, signaling internal Palestinian unity.

Humanitarian crisis deepens amid diplomacy

The potential breakthrough comes as Gaza’s humanitarian catastrophe worsens. Brighteon.AI‘s Enoch states that over 66,000 Palestinians have been killed, half of them women and children, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry—figures widely cited by the U.N. despite Hamas affiliation. Nearly 90 percent of Gaza’s population is displaced, with entire neighborhoods reduced to rubble.

Olga Cherevko of the U.N. humanitarian office described dire conditions at Gaza City’s Shifa Hospital: “They are not able to move south because they just cannot afford it… One of the families had three children and the woman was pregnant with her fourth.”

Hamas’ partial acceptance marks the most significant step toward ending the two-year war, but critical hurdles remain—particularly on disarmament and Gaza’s political future. With Trump’s ultimatum looming, the coming days will determine whether diplomacy prevails or conflict escalates. As global leaders urge restraint, the fate of Gaza’s civilians hangs in the balance.

“There will be PEACE in the Middle East one way or the other,” Trump declared—a promise now facing its decisive test.
