TitanX Review: The New All-in-One Laser Training Pistol from Mantis

Mantis just released the TitanX, a laser training pistol that combines their motion-tracking technology directly into a Glock-style platform. I’ve had the prototype for a few months, and now that the final version is out, I can talk about it and show it.

What Is the TitanX?

The TitanX is a dry fire training pistol with an integrated MantisX module, a resetting trigger, and a built-in laser for instant feedback. It’s available in models that mimic the Glock 19, Glock 45, and Glock 17, with the same dimensions so it fits in your existing holsters.

It’s optic-ready out of the box, featuring both RMR and Shield RMS/RMSc footprints, and it includes a rail so you can mount your favorite light. Powering it is easy thanks to USB-C charging—no more micro-USB cables lying around.

Realistic Trigger and Magazines

The TitanX trigger has that familiar Glock feel—a wall (kinda) and a clean break—with a functional trigger safety dingus that prevents the trigger from moving unless pressed correctly. Each pull fires a visible laser pulse, perfect for pairing with the Laser Academy app (which offers free and paid training modes).

It ships with two weighted magazines, and here’s the cool part—the TitanX is also compatible with real Glock magazines. My TitanX mag weighed in at 262 grams, and my loaded Glock 19 mag came in at 254 grams, so they’re nearly identical. The mags drop free, and the mag release is reversible for left- or right-handed shooters.

Even with the weighted magazine, the TitanX comes in at about half the weight of a loaded Glock 19, but it still feels substantial enough for realistic draw and reload practice.

Easy Setup and Pairing

Pairing the TitanX with the Mantis app couldn’t be simpler. Open the Mantis Pistol or Rifle app, press the button on the top of the slide, and it connects instantly. I’ve been running mine for months without any pairing issues.

Once connected, the built-in MantisX gives you the same movement and trigger control analysis you’d get from the standalone MantisX sensors—no extra attachment needed. That means you can track draws, follow-up shots, reloads, and transitions all from one setup.

Laser Alignment and Optic Setup

Up front, the TitanX has adjustments for the laser, so I sighted in the laser with my red dot. I mounted an optic, aligned the red dot to my iron sights, then matched the laser to the red dot’s point of impact. Press the button once to keep the laser on, again to turn it off—it’s simple and intuitive.

Dry Fire Drills at Home

This pistol opens up a lot of options for at-home training. Before the TitanX, I used to run a laser cartridge setup with my real gun and the MantisX mounted to a rail or magazine base. That worked fine, but it only tracked the first shot. Any follow-up shots were on a dead trigger and didn’t get recorded.

With the TitanX’s resetting trigger and multi-shot tracking, I can now practice full drills like holster draws, reloads, and transitions—while recording every shot through the Mantis app or Laser Academy (or both simultaneously).

I’ve been running classics like the El Presidente, Box Drill, 1–5 Drill, and Bill Drill right in my home setup. The Mantis app even includes TitanX-specific drills, especially under the Transitions section, some calling for up to six targets if you’ve got the space.

Final Thoughts

The TitanX combines everything I’ve used separately for years—laser feedback, trigger reset, and MantisX analytics—into one compact, safe, and affordable training tool. At $199, it’s cheaper than many dedicated training pistols and far more capable.

If you’re serious about improving your shooting skills, this thing belongs in your dry fire bag. You can draw from concealment, practice reloads, track every shot, and get real-time coaching—all without spending a dime on ammo.

Mantis didn’t pay me for this review, but they did send the TitanX for testing, and I do earn a small commission if you use my affiliate link below. It helps support the channel and lets me keep doing videos like this.
