Ron Gee, Prominent Anti-Violence Advocate, Shot And Killed

Ron Gee, a prominent anti-violence advocate in Indianapolis and founder of Cease Fire Indy, was tragically shot and killed on the city’s east side. The investigation into his death is ongoing, but his mission to combat violence continues to inspire the community.


INDIANAPOLIS, IN (2-minute read) — Authorities in Indianapolis are investigating a fatal shooting on the city’s east side that resulted in the death of Ron Gee, a well-known community activist dedicated to fighting violence.

The Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department responded to a shooting around Arlington Avenue and 38th Street at approximately 11 a.m. Upon arrival, officers found an adult male inside a vehicle with gunshot wounds. The victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ron Gee Remembered

The deceased has been identified as Ron Gee, a respected anti-violence advocate who founded Cease Fire Indy. Gee was a beacon of hope in Indianapolis, tirelessly working to reduce violence and unite communities.

Gee’s dedication to ending violence led him to establish Cease Fire Indy, a nonprofit organization focused on curbing gun violence. In 2022, he further expanded his efforts by launching The Village Project, a summer program for youth aimed at providing positive activities and guidance.

Gee’s fight against violence was personal; he survived a targeted shooting on Christmas Eve in 2018. Despite this harrowing experience, he continued his advocacy work undeterred.

The investigation into Gee’s death is ongoing, and no additional details have been released at this time.
