Glock To Introduce New Glock V Models While Discontinuing Classics?

A recent unconfirmed report suggests that Glock may be discontinuing most of its current pistol lineup, with the exception of the 43, 43X, and 48X. These could be replaced by a new line called “glock v models” featuring changes to block illegal switch conversions. However, no official announcement has been made, and details remain speculative.

SAN DIEGO, CA (2-minute read) — A widely circulated screenshot from GlockStore’s Instagram account has sparked major buzz in the firearm community, suggesting that Glock may be planning to discontinue nearly all of its current handgun models starting November 30, 2025. According to the unconfirmed post, only the Glock 43, 43X, and 48X would remain in production, while the rest of the lineup would be replaced by a new series reportedly called “glock v models.”

The screenshot claims that these new “Glock V Models” will include internal changes aimed at preventing illegal switch conversions, which can turn a semi-automatic firearm into a fully automatic one, an illegal modification under federal law. At launch, all Glock V Models would reportedly be NON-MOS (Modular Optic System), meaning they won’t be optics-ready out of the box. Interestingly, the post also states that no pricing changes will be made at this time.

As of now, Glock has not officially confirmed any of these changes. GlockStore itself notes that they are still working to confirm the new information. Despite the lack of confirmation, the post has generated significant chatter online, with many firearm owners and concealed carriers wondering what these changes could mean for the future of Glock’s product line, and their current pistols.

Understanding the rumored New Glock V Models

If true, this would represent one of the most sweeping overhauls of Glock’s lineup in decades. For concealed carriers, home defenders, and law enforcement professionals who rely on Glock’s dependability, such a shift could impact training, compatibility, and aftermarket accessories.

From a legal standpoint, Glock’s move to implement anti-switch features may be in response to growing pressure from lawmakers and law enforcement agencies combating the illegal use of “Glock switches” or auto sears.

But until there’s an official statement from Glock, it’s important to view these claims as speculative. Firearm owners should not rush to conclusions or make purchasing decisions based solely on this post.

Safety Tip: Stay informed by following official manufacturer announcements. Misinformation can lead to confusion, rushed purchases, and improper training decisions. Always verify firearm updates through trusted sources before acting.
