Getting My Springfield Echelon Compact Ready for USPSA

Getting My Springfield Echelon Compact Ready for USPSA

In this video, I show the upgrades I made to my Springfield Armory Echelon Compact to get it USPSA-ready from appendix concealment. The installation steps are shown in a quick, sped-up montage highlighting the full setup process. I’m carrying over the same modifications I run on my full-size Echelon to the Compact so it feels as close as possible to the full-size, just in a smaller package.

I switched to the Springfield Armory Echelon 4.0C Large Grip Module because the large module gives me extra real estate for my support hand, which improves my connection to the gun and control. Next, I installed the Tyrant CNC Extended Magazine Release and their I.T.T.S. Trigger was then fitted into the Central Operating Group (COG), offering 20% reduction in pre-travel and a firmer reset.

Once the COG was reinstalled into the large grip module, I added Talon Grips’ Pro Texture Grips. The final step shows the Echelon holstered in the Carey Concealment Bounty system — an appendix carry setup that includes magnetic magazine pouches and a holster magnet on one of the belt clips. While it prints too much for true concealed carry, this system is purpose-built for competition use from an appendix-style position.

I also use two TEKTO Knives they sent me in the video for opening packaging. The A3 Delta in Forged Carbon handle feels excellent in hand, looks great, and seems very well built. The A7 Zastava is an OTF model that deploys out the front; its Serbian red wood inlays are sharp-looking and it has become a interesting fidget tool at my desk.

Now that the Compact is built out, I’ve been running dry-fire drills with it and will get some range sessions in soon. I hope to run it in a match before long, but for now I’m just testing what works for me. These are mods I chose for my own setup, not a blanket recommendation. I’m bringing you along on the journey as I learn how it performs in practice and competitions.
