Four Girls Injured in Unprovoked Theater Stabbing, Suspect Moves Locations To Stab Others

A man is in custody after allegedly stabbing four girls inside an AMC theater in Braintree, Massachusetts. Authorities believe this attack is connected to another stabbing incident in Plymouth, Massachusetts.

BRAINTREE, MA (2-minute read) — A man is in custody after allegedly stabbing four girls inside a movie theater in Braintree, Massachusetts, Braintree Police said.

At 6 p.m. Saturday evening, a man entered the AMC Braintree 10 and proceeded into one of the theaters, authorities reported. Once inside, the suspect attacked four females between the ages of 9 and 17, stabbing them without any apparent provocation or warning. Despite the severity of the situation, the injuries sustained by the four girls were non-life-threatening. They were promptly transported to Boston hospitals for treatment.

The suspect fled the scene in a black SUV, according to police. Utilizing video footage, investigators identified the vehicle’s license plate and notified other law enforcement agencies.

Shortly after, authorities linked the vehicle to a similar assault in Plymouth, Massachusetts. Around 7:04 p.m., just an hour after the Braintree incident, the suspect allegedly stabbed two additional victims—a 21-year-old woman and a 29-year-old man—at a McDonald’s in Plymouth. Both victims were also treated for non-life-threatening injuries at local hospitals, according to the Massachusetts State Police.

Following a pursuit with Massachusetts State Police, the suspect’s vehicle crashed in Sandwich, Massachusetts, leading to his arrest.

Authorities believe that the stabbings in Braintree and Plymouth are related, suggesting a disturbing pattern of violence. The investigation is ongoing, as police work to piece together the motive behind these unprovoked attacks.

These incidents highlight the critical need for heightened situational awareness and the importance of self-defense knowledge. Individuals must remain vigilant in public spaces and be prepared to respond to unforeseen threats.

Safety Tip: Always be aware of your surroundings, especially in public spaces, and have a plan for how to respond to unexpected situations. Learning basic self-defense can be a valuable skill in protecting yourself and others.
