Flying with Guns: Episode 37 – MSY to LAS

Episode 37 was filmed on December 11, 2025, flying from New Orleans to Las Vegas. This was another quick and easy trip where everything went exactly the way it should when declaring and traveling with firearms.

Check-In at MSY

I walked up to the counter and let the agent know I was declaring firearms, then handed over my ID. She handed my ID back, filled out the firearm declaration form, then handed it to me to sign. After signing it, I placed the form into the FedEx sleeve attached to my locked Condition 1 hard-sided pistol case, which was packed inside another piece of luggage.

Once the bag zipped up, that was it. No extra questions and no delays. I headed straight to security.

Arrival in Las Vegas

After landing in Las Vegas, I went to baggage claim and picked up my bag off the regular carousel with the rest of the luggage. Everything was exactly as I packed it. I grabbed the bag and was on my way.

Final Thoughts

This flight was about as simple as it gets. A quick declaration at the counter, no unnecessary steps, and a normal baggage pickup in Las Vegas. When everyone involved understands the policies, flying with a checked firearm can be fast, predictable, and stress-free.
