Concealed Carrier Fatally Shoots Dog After It Broke Free From Leash, Was Reportedly Muzzled

CHICAHO, ILLINOIS — In Chicago’s Albany Park neighborhood, a dog was fatally shot by a 33-year-old man after it escaped its owner’s control. The incident occurred around 6:50 p.m. on Monday, near Pulaski Road and Montrose Avenue.

The dog, owned by a 41-year-old man in a wheelchair, reportedly approached the shooter, leading him to use his firearm. The dog, which was reportedly muzzled, was later taken to a veterinarian where it died.

The armed man, who legally possessed a firearm, was not charged or cited by the police following the event.

As a concealed carrier, do you feel that you would have used your firearm in self-defense against a muzzle dog? Chime in below.
