Advocating Against Woke Agendas in the U.S. Military

We The People have spoken during this historic election.

Despite the constant media propaganda, it turns out the majority of Americans don’t like being told to accept a woke agenda:

  • that prioritizes sex and the color of skin over hard work and merit;
  • where men can shower with female athletes and compete in women’s sports;
  • that an entire month is devoted to celebrate the sexual lives of a few;

While elitists instruct us

  • that America is evil and racist to the core;
  • that citizens must receive an experimental vaccine and wear a mask or lose their jobs; and
  • that protecting our own borders that is overrun by criminals, terrorists and military-age fighting men does not constitute a national security risk.

Many American families’ personal savings are depleted, and they live paycheck to paycheck, while maximizing credit card debt. The goal to buy a home is unobtainable, as interest rates and crippling inflation destroy the American dream.

Yet Washington’s foreign policy recklessly careens towards World War Three at a time when our military has been rated “weak” by the Heritage Foundation.

“The news media reels in a state of shock that the majority of Americans resent being force fed this divisive Marxist agenda.”

The hubris of the elite class, so wedded to the mainstream media, blinded them to obvious signals.

Once Elon Musk championed free speech on X, the signs of popular discontent became evident.

At STARRS we have watched this same signal for the past two years.

In January 2023, we began collecting comments by military-related people from articles and social media to understand what they were thinking about the woke and mandatory vaccine agendas.

Their thousands of comments mirror perfectly the results of the election. We saw that these people already voted early— either with their feet by leaving the military in droves or not enlisting because of the woke agenda and being forced to take the experimental Covid 19 vax.

Cadets, parents and military servicemembers have been telling STARRS leaders directly the same thing these past four years.

STARRS Chairman Lt. General Rod Bishop always says to his peers and others, who rely on sanitized news reports that deny these problems occur, that they should to “Listen to the People.”

We‘ve submitted the above document of quotes to the Secretary of Defense’s DEI advisory committee to show the DEI agenda is harming the military.

Matt Lohmeier submitted this document to Congress in his testimony  at the “The Risks of Progressive Ideologies in the U.S. Military” hearing for the Subcommittee on National Security, the Border, and Foreign Affairs in January 2024.

We’ve posted this document on DOD and military news social media accounts. The observations of the readers should have been a warning, since any woke post would be inundated quickly with comments by the people opposing DOD’s woke agenda.

Another more recent signal has come to light.

Some people from STARRS are running (independent of STARRS) for the US Air Force Academy Association of Graduates Board of Directors. They circulated a petition for changes to the AOG’s Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws so that graduate voices, who are concerned about the woke issues at the Academy, have the ability to communicate their thoughts and opinions.

The candidates were gratified that thousands of fellow Air Force Academy graduates agreed with the petition. The support was validated by over 600 accompanying comments from graduates who voiced their displeasure regarding current conditions at the academy and/or AOG, expressed relief that efforts were being undertaken to restore the preeminence of merit and high standards, and thanked the candidates for their initiative and courage.

“STARRS has been ahead of the game in recognizing the presence of these signals in regard to the Pentagon’s staunch advocacy of the woke agenda and vaccine mandate.“

Our warnings received pushback from some flag officers and other military leaders who either refused to admit our analysis was sound or who believed our assessment but lacked the courage to stand up against the false narrative promoted by the White House and policymakers in the Pentagon.

Perhaps the result of this election will embolden them to fulfill their duties in accordance with their Constitutional responsibilities. Now that the majority of Americans have spoken, these leaders must take a stand and speak out against policies that are an anathema to military science and the basic human rights of every service member in the armed forces.

STARRS is not associated with Flag Officers for America but we note that over 230 retired generals and admirals signed an open letter stating their national security concerns about the political direction our country was taking prior to the recent election, including wokeness in the military.

“The new administration will work to remove the divisive woke CRT/DEI agenda from the government and STARRS will offer its assistance, expertise and knowledge in this effort.”

We will also continue to educate Congress and staffers on the need to remove all elements of this agenda from the military, including the funding of DEI. If majorities in both the Senate and House agree on supporting anti-DEI/pro-merit legislation, then the obstructionism of the last four year should come to an end.

However, we know this is just the start of a new phase of this fight. Lt. General Michael Flynn recently said:

“This is only the beginning of the long slog to achieving total victory. The best analogy is that we have seized the beachhead and have broken through the hedgerows into Normandy.

I want everyone to understand, we have not achieved a “VE Day”, we are more like D-DAY+1. We have our beachhead, the troops are arriving in strength, with determined purpose, and a clear mandate.

But now the real work of rooting out the evil infestation really begins. Removing the infiltrators, the bureaucratic systems and processes that infect decision making and do nothing to protect the safety and security of the American people along with many bureaucrats who wish nothing but ill will to our arriving troops.”

Our role at STARRS is to continue to be a watchdog to monitor, educate and expose those in the military who covertly support CRT/DEI ideology, those who promote it, and those who actively thwart efforts to remove it.

From the timeline seen in the STARRS video, “What’s Happened to Our Military?”, the woke agenda in DOD accelerated under Obama, only throttled back modestly under Trump and then greatly increased under Biden.

In 2020 when President Trump issued an Executive Order stopping CRT/DEI training, the base commander where Matt Lohmeier was stationed ignored the order from the Commander-in-Chief.

If you hear, see or know about someone doing this, let STARRS know. Dr. Stan Ridgley, an expert on Marxist ideology and its brainwashing techniques, was recently on our podcast and reiterated this, saying:

“The best way to stop this is sunlight. Transparency is the best way to go about doing this and to make it known to the public again and again and again that this is what is happening and that this is wrong if you want a strong America and you want patriotism to inform our officer corps and to inform our enlisted ranks.”

The true Marxists, who bring ruin on the military by manipulating people with enticing words to further their agenda won’t relinquish power easily. They’re willing to take “two steps back,” rename their DEI titles and offices, and use bureaucratic means to subvert those people and initiatives opposed to these programs.

Deep financial interests are in play to maintain the multi-billion dollar DEI industry, where some civilian DEI officers in the military make six figure salaries. Also, unfortunately, many people benefit (to the detriment of others) from the DEI agenda in terms of promotions and selections because of their sex or skin color and are not likely to easily give up that benefit.

The Woke Mind Virus that has infected the Department of Defense and the rest of the government is not easily eradicated, but as in the case of the Bud Light advertising fiasco, the American people have spoken in mass and summarily refute it.

We’ve narrowly avoided the descent into becoming a full-fledged Marxist, totalitarian country—the kind most of us from the Cold War era gave our careers fighting against.

It is now time to boldly stand up for the founding principles of our nation and expose all who are pushing an anti-American ideology on the military, service academies and other military schools.

There’s a lot of work to be done in military, presidential and congressional arenas.

In the words of Navy Captain John Paul Jones, “I have not yet begun to fight.”
