7 Injured in Series of Violent Incidents Across St. Louis

ST. LOUIS, MO (2-minute read) – Over the weekend, St. Louis was rocked by multiple violent incidents resulting in seven injuries across five different shootings, according to police reports.

The violence began Saturday afternoon with a triple shooting in a home on North 20th Street. At approximately 5:30 p.m., a 32-year-old man entered the residence, yelling and subsequently firing at the occupants. A 52-year-old male was critically injured, being shot six times, while two others, ages 45 and 30, suffered wounds to the arm and leg respectively. All victims are currently receiving medical care.

Early Sunday morning, additional gunfire wounded a 20-year-old man at a troubled downtown gas station known for frequent police incidents. Despite sustaining injuries to his chest and ear, the victim was uncooperative with law enforcement efforts.

Saturday evening also saw an 18-year-old man become the target of a drive-by shooting near Amherst Park. The young man was hit in the right leg by shots fired from a passing black Chrysler sedan.

Another early Sunday incident involved a 15-year-old boy who was shot in both the back and shoulder in North 21st Street. He is reported to be in stable condition following hospitalization.

The spate of violence continued with a burglary turned shooting on Wise Avenue. A 34-year-old man confronted an intruder attempting to enter his home, resulting in an exchange of gunfire. The resident was injured but survived the encounter.

In a separate incident, a 23-year-old man attempting to break up a fight near Hodiamont and Dr. Martin Luther King Drive was slashed in the face and thumb with a knife. The assailant fled the scene, leaving the victim to seek emergency medical treatment.

In short, the city is falling apart.
