21-Year-Old Fatally Shoots Man Who Was Reportedly Armed With An Ice Pick, Grand Jury To Decide On Possible Charges

HOUSTON, TEXAS — A 21-year-old man is awaiting a grand jury decision in Houston after a fatal shooting incident. Houston Police Department reports that the incident occurred on Sunday around 10 p.m. at 2000 Smith St. Officers found a man with multiple gunshot wounds at the scene. The man was taken to Ben Taub Hospital but succumbed to his injuries.

The man who fired the shots, who reported the incident via a 911 call from a nearby location, was taken into custody by the police. The firearm used in the shooting was also recovered. According to initial findings, the man had left a restaurant and noticed he was being followed by another man. This man, who was allegedly armed with an ice pick, approached him at a crosswalk. Believing he was about to be robbed, the suspect shot the man.

The investigation into this incident continues, with the grand jury set to determine the course of action.
