Weekend Open Thread: He didn’t do it Edition

Weekend Open Thread: He didn’t do it Edition

Howdy folks. You did it. You made it through to Friday and it is Weekend Open Thread time. More entertaining than a low speed Bronco chase.

It may be a bit crass for some, but the internet wasted no time in firing up the meme machine.

I remember the first one…

I feel badly for the Goldman and Brown families, as their children were the victims in the case.

But OJ is a fair target, deceased or not.

Very ironic indeed.

It would be a missed opportunity.

The Bronco will forever be associated with OJ.

He’d been avoiding him for years…

Or, if you prefer…

What is hysterical, is the late Norm MacDonald started trending…

The silver lining of it all…

I am going to skip the music selection tonight in favor of something topical. Norm MacDonald had some legendary jokes about OJ. OJ might have left behind a complicated legacy, but everyone loves Norm.

Classic stuff from one of the all time greats. Back when SNL was funny.

Norm wasn’t the only one…

I already posted about the Knife Shows this weekend, and you can read more here…

Big weekend for knife shows: Oregon Knife Show and Lehigh Valley (and Piney Woods Hammer in)

Next weekend are the NCCA Show, and the James Black Bowie Heritage Festival. I would imagine Mark will be attending the latter.

There are a few more current event memes, not related to OJ Simpson, many touching on prior themes.

You can even get a club card…

I’d rather have Subway.

Knoxville wasn’t in the path of totality this time, and it rained anyway…

But my Brother got to see it in Cleveland.

Speaking of Cleveland…

No comment from MPA.

Mexico had a great view, but this photo won the day…

It never closes.

Some other random ones that are somewhat timely…

I can’t wait to go to my first Smokies game. Just as soon as lacrosse is over.

I am aware that the MLB team in Cleveland is doing well, and I am not happy about it.

Easter has come and gone…

And Football season can’t come soon enough. For me, or for Travis.

I am recording the Buckeye’s Spring game to watch when I get home from lacrosse tomorrow.

And even though you won a knife Zach, and I love you like a Brother, Xichigan still sucks.

Our drawing this week is for an Adimanti Skimen by Ganzo.  (Above) As I just mentioned, Zach is the winner.

Next up is a Civivi Praxis.  They sent it, and a new Starflare to us last week.

I really like it.  Fits my hand well. I was considering keeping it, but Katie wanted to keep the Starflare, so I feel like we need to give at least one of them away. I might do a mini-review before sending it out.

This will be a single draw win. So I will pick from this week’s comments to give away the knife next week. Up to 5 comments or replies are your entries. If you are new to the blog, your first comments will be held in moderation until I can approve them. However, new commenters get double credit for each entry. So you have that going for you.

Good luck everyone.

Now on to the non-themed memes. Enjoy.

I demand satisfaction.

Truth in advertising.

So is that, I suppose.

It’s all good.

Follow me for more cost saving tips.

I am sure Hocky will spin us a yarn on the subject.

The duck chose violence.

I still like their music, but they had their issues…

What was it that Stuart called them? Something colorful and British.

The struggle is real.

This too…

The good ole days…

Even farther back…

So dumb. But I laughed.

All 3.

I fear for humanity.

As I have every week since Hamas attacked Israel on October 7th, I am taking a moment to voice my support for our ally, and the only liberal Democracy in the Middle East.

Israel is held to an impossible standard. They were attacked by “people” who literally are calling for Genocide. If Israel were not trying to protect civilians, they could have reduced the entirety of Gaza to rubble. They don’t because that would be immoral.

The hypocrisy is staggering.

It is Israel’s fault, of course.

I really do feel like the world is upside down.

On a more personal note…

Then this…

Or this is…

But We will get by.

OK, so I ended up with a musical number. It seemed logical and it is where my muse took me.

Part 2 of Norm…

Finally, I leave you with this classic…

Have a great weekend everybody.
