ZEISS Presents New Entry-Level Model for the World of Trail Cameras

The ZEISS Secacam 1 offers the best value for money on the market. With proven image quality, accessory compatibility, and a variety of digital functions, it opens up new target groups to the world of trail cameras.

Oberkochen, Germany | 27 January 2026 | ZEISS Photonics & Optics

At the Jagd&Hund 2026 tradeshow, ZEISS presents an expansion of its trail camera portfolio. The new Secacam 1 will be the most attractively priced model in the ZEISS lineup. For hunters who want to keep an eye on their territory via smartphone app and digital features, the Secacam 1 offers an appealing entry point into the world of trail cameras with a recommended retail price of €124.99. This model perfectly complements the established models 3, 5, and 7, as well as wide-angle trail cameras, covering all needs for wildlife and nature observation.

Proven ZEISS Image Quality – By Day and Night

The ZEISS Secacam 1 delivers trusted ZEISS image quality. With 60 black LEDs, a highly light-sensitive sensor, and IR-Boost technology, it captures razor-sharp, well-illuminated images – even at night. The invisible 940nm flash ensures that wildlife remains undisturbed. Thanks to its powerful sensor and image processing technology, the Secacam 1 offers optical performance that is unique in this price category.

Year-Round Ready – Plus Comprehensive Accessories

The ZEISS Secacam 1 is developed for year-round outdoor use and withstands even the harshest conditions. Its rugged, fully sealed housing is IP66-certified, protecting it against dust, rain, and snow. The camera operates reliably even in extreme temperatures.

The proven accessories are also available for the ZEISS Secacam 1. With the ZEISS Vari-Mount, both the camera and solar panel can be precisely aligned using the ball head joint, mounted with ease, and secured with a padlock if needed. The ZEISS Power Pack significantly extends operating time and enables thousands of images per charge, and can be conveniently recharged via ZEISS solar panels.

The weatherproof solar panels ensure a reliable power supply, making the camera operational almost year-round – without constant checking, battery changes, or recharging. The custom-designed ZEISS metal housing provides optimal protection against theft and vandalism without compromising image quality. These robust housings are weatherproof and allow for easy installation with cable lock security. In this way, the Secacam 1 becomes part of a modular system that offers maximum flexibility, convenience, and future readiness.

Full ZEISS App Functionality

The ZEISS Secacam 1 also unlocks the full potential of the ZEISS Secacam App. With the camera sharing function, you can invite additional users and precisely define which functions they may access. With ZEISS Subscription Packages, you can unlock additional premium functions – including ‘Colour the Night’ for colourised night shots, AI-based animal recognition with Smart Filters, and the Activity Hub, which automatically records sightings and transforms them into meaningful statistics.
With ZEISS SecaTrack, stolen cameras can be recovered. If the camera is removed from its installation site and switched off, it sends its GPS position to the ZEISS Secacam App every ten minutes and additionally captures a photo. This makes it possible to track the location and identify a potential thief. Activation is done directly in the app, and use is included in all three ZEISS Subscription Packages.

Through Over-the-Air (OTA) updates, the ZEISS Secacam 1 is always kept up to date. Firmware updates are automatically installed via the app, ensuring you always benefit from new functions, optimisations, and security updates – with no manual effort required.

Starting Has Never Been Easier

The ZEISS Secacam 1 is ready for use within seconds. Batteries and multi-roaming SIM are pre-installed, and the generous internal memory eliminates the need for a separate memory card. For easy data transfer, saved recordings can be exported via the USB-C port either directly to a computer or to a USB stick. Using the included activation code, the camera is quickly registered in the ZEISS Secacam App, and switched on – starting has never been easier. The integrated test button allows you to conveniently check the camera on-site: after about three seconds, a test image is triggered to verify alignment and functionality. Additionally, the trail camera is lockable.
