Weatherby® Launches New SORIX Field with Grade II Walnut

Sheridan, WY – February 2026. Weatherby is proud to announce the SORIX Field with Grade II Walnut, the newest addition to the SORIX shotgun line and a refined field platform that blends timeless styling with proven performance. Built on Weatherby’s field proven inertia recoil system, the SORIX Field delivers the same trusted reliability and smooth operation hunters expect from the SORIX name, now in a classic walnut configuration designed for upland and waterfowl pursuits.

Defined by its beautiful Grade II walnut stock, the SORIX Field offers a traditional look that feels at home in the upland fields or waterfowl blind. Designed for versatility across bird hunting seasons, this model balances durability, handling, and dependable Weatherby performance for hunters who appreciate timeless aesthetics paired with modern function.

The SORIX Field is compatible with the popular CRIO Plus choke tube pattern and ships with five chokes: cylinder, improved cylinder, modified, improved modified, and full. A choke wrench and carrying case are included.

The stepped rib, paired with an LPA fiber optic front sight, promotes fast target acquisition and natural pointing to help shooters stay on moving birds when it matters most. The receiver is drilled and tapped, making the SORIX Field optics ready right out of the box for hunters who prefer an optic option.

Oversized controls, including the safety, charging handle, and bolt release button, allow for intuitive operation even while wearing gloves. Adjustable stock shims are included so shooters can fine tune cast and overall fit. Designed with Weatherby’s Shift System, the SORIX Field supports both right and left handed shooters. With a simple swap of the charging handle and safety, left handed users experience the same control and ergonomics as right handed shooters.

Like all SORIX models, the SORIX Field is crafted in Italy with final fit, finish, and inspection completed in Sheridan, Wyoming.
