ST. CROIX, FLAMBEAU, FISHDONKEY RETURN AS AGLOW CONFERENCE FISHING TOURNAMENT SPONSORS

KNOX, IN  – The 2nd Annual Conference Fishing Tournament at the AGLOW Conference on Kentucky Lake will feature returning sponsors St. Croix, Flambeau, and FishDonkey.

After kicking off the new concept at the conference last year in Bemidji, MN, the tournament returns with many of the same sponsors for year two.

“We wanted to try something different,” said Trent Marsh, President of AGLOW. “We had hoped for 40 or so participants and almost doubled that number. We had a great morning on the water and a tremendous number of fish were pulled from Lake Bemidji. We knew we were on to something, and that our next several conferences set up well to keep it going.”

Kentucky Lake, one of the top tournament lakes in the country, and home lake for the MLF Tour, will play host to the AGLOW Conference during the last full week of September. Great bass fishing and some of the best crappie fishing anywhere in the country will highlight the tournament.

“When we saw how the inaugural tournament unfolded in Minnesota, we couldn’t wait to replicate it here,” said Elena Blevins, Executive Director of the Kentucky Lake CVB. “We have an incredible fishery, and this is just another chance to highlight it.”

The Kentucky Lake story will be featured heavily by the attendees. Once a poster child for the problematic asian carp, it has become a model for fishery management and recovery, with the asian carp managed and both bass and crappie fishing making a strong rebound.

“The fishing here is as good as it’s ever been, and we’re excited for AGLOW to tell that story,” Blevins concluded.

St. Croix and Flambeau are contributing prizes to the winners of various categories of the tournament, and FishDonkey will be onsite to administer the tournament with their app.

Conference registration is still open, but rooms are filling fast. The annual conference will feature a fishing tournament on Kentucky Lake, a squirrel hunting derby, business sessions, a day afield, and networking opportunities.
