SOG Launches SEAL Commander in Collaboration with Todd Begg, Delivering a Made-in-USA Version of a Classic Blade

IRVING, TX – September 2025 – Conceptualized by legendary knife designer Todd Begg, the newest tactical creation from SOG® Knives is a warfighter knife, showcasing a design that’s built to last from materials sourced entirely in the USA.

From its aggressive 5.25-inch S35VN clip-point blade, inspired by legendary Special Forces units, to its Micarta handle scales, the SEAL Commander delivers on every front. Engineered for serious use, the advanced steel blade is infused with vanadium and niobium carbides for outstanding toughness, wear resistance, and edge retention. It’s even cryogenically treated to enhance performance beyond that imparted by traditional heat treatments.

Anchoring the formidable blade is a rugged, lightweight handle crafted from slip-resistant Micarta scales, built to endure repeated exposure to moisture, heat, and impact. Over time, the material even develops an attractive patina, adding character with every use.

When the work is done, the blade stows smoothly away in an ambidextrous Kydex sheath, ensuring safe, intuitive carry, and simplicity of access, in addition to a fit that’s easily customized to suit any wearer.
