Safe LivinG is excited to announce its new collaboration with the Army & Air Force Exchange Service. Safe LivinG will visit Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph and Fort Cavazos this month to celebrate the collaboration. Safe LivinG offers attendees a unique opportunity to engage in various activities centered around personal security and firearm safety.
The Army & Air Force Exchange Service is the Department of Defense’s largest retailer, offering tax-free shopping and military-exclusive prices for authorized shoppers. The Exchange has been a constant for service members and their families since 1895, always meeting them where they are to improve their quality of life. The Exchange is the 52nd-largest retailer in the country, and all earnings support military communities.
“I am so excited and extremely proud to announce a collaboration between Safe LivinG and the Army & Air Force Exchange Services to empower our military and their families with information and resources to ensure increased safety awareness,” said Karen Butler, president of SLG2, Inc. “As a retired Department of the Army Civilian, former Army Family Readiness Officer, spouse of a retired U.S Marine and parent of a current serving US Army Officer, this partnership is the culmination of a 30-year dream to be able to help the military community be safer and more ready to face the challenges and realities of service to our great nation.”
Guests at firearm safety events at the Exchange can participate in outdoor demonstrations, including binocular and turkey call activities and the MAGPUL DAKA Grid system. There are also opportunities to review firearms from top manufacturers and learn about the importance of responsible firearm handling and safe storage. Safe LivinG aims to raise awareness about self-defense tools, such as SABRE pepper spray, through interactive demonstrations. The organization encourages families to bring their children along for a dedicated firearm safety discussion tailored specifically for young attendees.
Guests aged 18 and older can handle and shoot handguns and long guns using a state-of-the-art mobile FATS by InVeris range guided by knowledgeable female instructors. The simulator provides immediate recoil, impact and sound feedback, creating an immersive experience that builds confidence.
The Safe LivinG experience will be stationed at Joint Base San Antonio-Randolph on Friday, October 11 and Saturday, October 12 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Safe LivinG experience will also be stationed at Fort Cavazos on Friday, October 25 and Saturday, October 26 from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Both new and experienced shooters, along with their families, are invited to attend this exciting event.
