EDGEFIELD, S.C. — Steven Rinella, founder and host of the MeatEater television series and podcast, was honored by the National Wild Turkey Federation, receiving the prestigious NWTF Diamond Life Membership plaque. This honor recognizes Rinella’s significant contributions to the NWTF mission, the conservation of the wild turkey and the preservation of our hunting heritage.
“I’ve devoted much of my career to understanding the history of American wildlife management, and one of the clearest lessons I’ve learned is that turkey hunters owe an enormous debt of gratitude to The National Wild Turkey Federation,” Rinella said. “I don’t care where you hunt turkeys, I guarantee that NWTF has made an on-the-ground difference in your life. Becoming a life member was the least I could do to say thanks.”
The award was presented at the MeatEater headquarters in Bozeman, Montana, where Rinella and his team continue to produce engaging content that educates and inspires hunters and conservationists across the globe. Jason Tarwater, NWTF regional director for Montana, Wyoming and Idaho, attended the event to present the award.
“It was an honor to be able to present the Diamond Life Membership plaque to a gentleman with such a strong and respected voice in the hunting and conservation space,” Tarwater said. “Steve has always been such a champion of the NWTF’s conservation efforts across the country through all of his media outlets, but now he can proudly call himself a Life Member of the NWTF.”
